Wrong Way Red Light

I was driving to work yesterday and at the front of the line at a stop light. This was a city street, one lane in each direction. Suddenly somebody pulled up on my left, driving the wrong way on the wrong side of the street. He didn't even notice, didn't even seem to care. I tapped my horn to get his attention and he did NOT look my way. So he clearly knew what he was doing. 

Sure enough, when the light turned green he sped off the line to get in front of me. Great thing is, the very next block was a red light. What is wrong with people?
